Maureen Crisp is a children's writer and teacher based in New Zealand. She has published short stories and plays and newspaper columns. Maureen also writes a weekly blog roundup on publishing tips and trends for her fellow children's writers in New Zealand and around the world. She has a keen interest in astronomy and finding things out which all feed the stories she tells and writes. In 2017 Maureen was awarded the prestigious Betty Gilderdale award for Outstanding Service to the Children's Literature Community and named a judge for the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults for 2018.
